Smith as President. Smith brings more than two decades of leadership experience in wealth management, broker-dealer operations, and real estate capital markets. He previously served as CEO and chairman of the board of FactRight, where he established industry-wide due diligence and risk standards that shaped advisor oversight of alternative investments. He also served a three-year term on the board of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA), and earlier in his career directed Ameriprise's alternative investment strategy, helping integrate private real estate solutions into its advisor platform. Smith's securities career started with the creation and oversight of a Managed Broker-Dealer platform. Beyond his industry tenure, Smith holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Missouri–Columbia School of Law and maintains law licenses in several states.
