BACKGROUND:
In a year of economic turbulence, how will Americans be getting inspired, spending and approaching travel in the coming months? A recent trends report by Talker Research took a deep dive into American wanderlust by examining the travel perceptions, ambitions and generational takes of 2,000 consumers. The results revealed some intriguing travel trends by generation and found that a critical mental health boost could be just one flight away.
In this segment,
SOME OF THE KEY FINDINGS:
- The average person surveyed travels 2.5 times a year and spends nearly
$3,500 on travel annually, not including work travel. - Millennials were the most interested in travel and baby boomers the least.
- 14% have canceled an upcoming trip due to their looming tariffs and recession concerns.
- YouTube was the top way respondents source inspiration for where to travel next, while Gen Z gets most of their travel inspiration from TikTok.
- The average person reports feeling 67% better mentally after going on a trip.
