OMA Reports a 16.0% Increase in April 2015 Passenger Traffic

MONTERREY, Mexico, May 5, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V., known as OMA (Nasdaq: OMAB) (BMV:OMA), reports that terminal passenger traffic at its 13 airports increased 16.0% in April 2015, as compared to April 2014. Domestic traffic increased 15.0%, and international traffic increased 22.0%.
Of total April traffic, 97.8% was commercial aviation and 2.2% was general aviation.

Domestic traffic increased in nine airports in April. The most noteworthy increases were in Monterrey (+21.0%; +100,881 passengers), Tampico (+33.5%; +15,798), and Acapulco (+25.7%; +12,824). Monterrey traffic increased principally on the Mexico City, Cancún, Bajío, Villahermosa, and Guadalajara routes. Tampico increased traffic on its Mexico City, Villahermosa, Guadalajara, and Cancún routes. Acapulco increased traffic on its Mexico City route.
International traffic increased in seven airports in April. Traffic increased most significantly in Monterrey (+34.6%; +27,329 passengers), principally as a result of increased traffic on the Houston and Las Vegas routes.
The number of flight operations (takeoffs and landings) in April increased 1.4% as compared to the same month of 2014. The number of domestic operations decreased 0.1% and international operations increased 11.5%.
