New Cloud Startup in Bozeman, Montana Raises Over $300,000
Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) September 10, 2015
IgniteFeedback, a new tech startup, announced today it raised over $300,000 to grow its business locally. The company focuses on giving business executives better insight into customer satisfaction. Its solution creates a scorecard showing company performance over time compared to their client's competitors.
"Often managers throw around buzzwords like customer experience or customer engagement, yet don't measure how they are doing. We bring them real-time data," said CEO, Ben Werner.
Montana Senator Steve Daines stated, "The startup scene continues to heat up in our state and provide new opportunities for jobs and economic growth. This news is more proof that you don't have to be in Silicon Valley to create something amazing. Montana is well known for world-class outdoor recreation, but fewer people know the Kauffman Foundation ranked us #1 in the nation for startup activity as well."
Founders Ben Werner and Eddie McDaniel originally moved to town for software development jobs at RightNow's Bozeman headquarters (a company sold to Oracle for $1.5b in 2011). Ben later published the first backcountry skiing guidebook in the state, but despite his love for the mountains, the offer of a better-paying job resulted in a move to Seattle to join the senior management team at Microsoft. While he learned an amazing amount about cloud business working in the big city, his heart never left Montana and last year he and his wife moved back to Bozeman.
In addition to selling to marketing specialists at larger cloud companies, IgniteFeedback also offers a lightweight version of the product for use by small businesses that works well for driving more sales online. The solution allows the website owner to ask a simple one question survey of visitors; learning that perhaps the website is confusing or maybe the product didn't come in the color or size the customer wanted.
The company has attracted investors from around the country, however this round was led by the Montana-based Frontier Fund 2 angel group who specializes in helping early-stage companies to grow quickly. Liz Marchi, managing director for the group said, "We're based in Montana and we want entrepreneurs to grow their companies here. We invested in IgniteFeedback because they have an experienced and passionate team going after a chunk of a $20 billion dollar a year market and we are excited to be working with them!"
The Blackstone Launchpad at Montana State University and Startup Bozeman also played critical roles in accelerating IgniteFeedback by providing workspace with high-speed Internet, key introductions, and access to advisors and influencers from around the region.
"We could not have gotten this far without help from the community, and to give back we'd like to invite any early stage startups or Montana-based businesses to purchase our solution for 50% off if they sign up with us in the next 30 days." said Werner.
What is next? The company says the funds will be used to hire in sales, marketing, and development. To apply, visit ignitefeedback.com to submit a resume and cover letter.
