Navy Federal Announces Android Pay™ Integration for Members

VIENNA, Va., May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Navy Federal Credit Union announced today it is one of the first financial institutions and only credit union to soon offer Android Pay™, to its members. Android Pay transforms mobile payments to give members further simplicity, security and choice when paying for things with and within their Android phones. 

Currently, there are approximately 3.6 million Navy Federal members with debit cards that generate roughly 70 million transactions per month. Among those are Active Duty military members and their families who are heavy users of applications and mobile banking.

Android Pay offers a seamless way to pay online and in-stores for every device running KitKat version or higher. The credit union will provide this new mobile payments option at no cost to members when Android Pay launches. Navy Federal debit cardholders can use Android Pay when it becomes available, and credit card holders will have the solution available later this year.

Navy Federal emphasizes digital services like Android Pay due to the large number of mobile users in its 5.5 million membership. The credit union currently has mobile banking applications for iPhone®, iPad®, Android and Kindle Fire, and a mobile website.
