NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Murray Analytics is pleased to announce that Joel Cohen has joined the Firm as a Managing Director. Joel was most recently at Duff & Phelps in the Disputes and Investigations Practice, where he led teams in complex engagements relating to investment funds, forensic accounting, bankruptcies, and insolvencies, as well as litigations relating to the asset management industry. Joel has a 16 year career in financial forensics, investigations, and insolvency work. He has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences on topics including hedge fund restructuring, hedge fund fraud, and accounting fraud. Over the course of his career, and prior to Duff & Phelps, Joel has also worked at Kinetic Partners, Citigroup, and Deloitte.
Joel brings to Murray Analytics considerable experience in managing assignments relating to investment funds, having worked on numerous matters in both the U.S., as well as in offshore jurisdictions. His experience includes work on cases involving accounting malpractice, business insurance disputes, fraud detection, and economic investigations. In his new role at Murray Analytics, Joel will be a team leader and member, responsible for providing financial advisory and litigation support services to our client base.
Barbara Scholl joins the Murray Analytics Platform as a subject matter expert in issues relating to leveraged and distressed debt investing, restructuring investment banking, and customs and practices in the securities, bank debt, and trade claims markets. Barbara has over 25 years of experience in distressed debt and other fixed income investing and restructuring investment banking. She was a partner at Gordian Group, a restructuring investment banking firm, for nine years, and subsequently managed debt research and investments for leading firms, including Davidson Kempner, Merrill Lynch, Gordon Brothers, NewSmith Capital Partners, and UniCredit Group.
