MWest Holdings Promotes Matthew Ellis to Chief Investment Officer

LOS ANGELES, May 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MWest Holdings announced today that Matthew Ellis has been promoted to Chief Investment Officer. In this role, Ellis will oversee the firm's acquisition and capital markets group, where he will be responsible for all acquisitions and financings of the firm's portfolio.

Since joining MWest in 2008, Ellis has played an integral part in the company's shift back to focusing on value add multi-family properties, and its expanding to become one of the premier boutique investment houses in Los Angeles.

Ellis joined the MWest team with extensive experience in real estate lending and structured finance. He previously worked for Wachovia Securities where he held the position of Vice President of Originations in their Los Angeles office. During his tenure with Wachovia, Ellis originated, underwrote, structured and closed debt and equity transactions totaling over $4 billion, at all levels of the capital stack. This experience allowed Ellis to jump right into his first role at MWest, where he was tasked with sourcing and underwriting prospective investments in Southern California.
