Family business expands to meet demand for Biteables, portion-controlled cookie-dough-wrapped ice cream

FORT MONMOUTH, N.J., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- MGT Foods, a third-generation family and veteran-owned CPG business based in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, today announces the completion of a 38,000 square-foot manufacturing facility expansion to support its recently launched brand, Biti Bites and flagship product, Biteables.

In March 2025, MGT Foods launched Biteables — bite-sized, 60-calorie snacks featuring cookie dough wrapped around creamy ice cream. Demand quickly outpaced the company's production capacity, driven by orders from major retailers like Walmart, Wawa, and Weis, as well as numerous private label partnerships.

The runaway success of the Biti Bites brand has been a boon for the family-owned business and credit to Richard Emanuele and Michael Emanuele, members of the second and third-generation who now serve as managing partners of MGT Foods. An engineer, Michael first invented a new cold extrusion technology and then began tinkering with a family favorite, chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. He was determined to shrink down those big flavors and textures into more of a bite-sized frozen snack. The result was the Biteable, an indulgent miniaturized dessert that provides built-in portion-control and also happens to be one of the smallest novelty ice cream products in the U.S.

Most importantly, Michael refused to compromise with Biteables ingredients. "So many products look delicious at first glance and then you see all the shortcuts they used like seed oils or corn syrup," says Michael. "We wanted to make something authentic and delicious. Something you wouldn't need to get a degree in nutrition in order to understand the label. Biteables have clean ingredients: real dark chocolate chips from Italy, real cane sugar, real strawberries, real ice cream made from real milk from Pennsylvania cows treated properly — and we make them all right here in New Jersey.
