LIMA-TANGO Survival Launches Urban-Focused Emergency System Ahead of National Preparedness Month

The recently launched THE GRAY-MAN expands the company's survival-system range with a low-profile, 72+ hour system developed for urban emergencies and evacuations.

Kennesaw, Georgia--(Newsfile Corp. - September 2, 2026) - LIMA-TANGO Survival has launched THE GRAY-MAN, a new 72+ hour survival system developed specifically for urban emergencies, evacuations, and situations where infrastructure disruption may require people to travel or relocate on foot.

The launch expands LIMA-TANGO's survival-system range into a more urban-focused format. Unlike the company's larger and more overt survival load-outs, THE GRAY-MAN uses a subdued gray day pack designed to resemble an everyday commuter bag rather than traditional tactical equipment.

LIMA-TANGO developed the new system in response to the different conditions people may encounter during emergencies in populated areas. Extended blackouts, road closures, and other infrastructure disruptions can require people to leave a workplace, vehicle, or other location and travel on foot while carrying their emergency supplies.

"Urban emergencies don't look like a camping trip," says William Petit, founder of LIMA-TANGO Survival. "We wanted to develop something that could remain in a vehicle or workplace and be carried on foot when needed, without looking like a traditional bug-out bag. THE GRAY-MAN applies the same core preparedness priorities as our other systems, but in a format designed around mobility and a lower profile."

The new system is designed primarily for one person and covers a 72+ hour emergency period. It incorporates equipment across core preparedness categories including shelter, water, food, first aid, fire, communications and power.

Equipment selected for urban disruption scenarios includes respiratory protection, water-access and treatment equipment, emergency communications and off-grid charging capabilities. These are combined with supplies for shelter, nutrition, first aid and fire in a single portable pack.

According to LIMA-TANGO, mobility and appearance were two considerations during the product's development. The company's other survival systems include larger load-outs designed for longer-duration or cold-weather emergencies, while THE GRAY-MAN was developed as a lightweight, grab-and-go alternative for use in populated environments.

The launch comes ahead of National Preparedness Month in September, an annual preparedness initiative led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to encourage households and communities to plan for disasters and emergencies.

THE GRAY-MAN is the latest addition to LIMA-TANGO Survival's range of emergency systems developed for different environments, durations, and group sizes.
