World Games credentials, for those already confirmed, will be available for pick-up in Room 306 of the Convention Center beginning at 0900 and continuing after the news conference until 1800.
World Games credentials are not required to attend this opening news conference.

- First Arrival!The 83-member team from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the first delegation to arrive in Los Angeles, touching down about 1400 and clearing customs and on their way to their pre-Games accommodations by 1500. The delegation includes 57 athletes, scheduled to compete in Aquatics, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bocce, Bowling Cycling, Equestrian, Football/7s, Handball, Powerlifting and Table Tennis.
- Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg underwayThe Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Final Leg began in the California capital of Sacramento on Monday, 13 July. The Final Leg will visit and hold ceremonies in 127 cities, towns and communities and travel 4,648 miles on three routes throughout the state before lighting the cauldron at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to open the 2015 Special Olympics World Games on 25 July. - Olympic Equestrian Dressage Medalist in freestyle demonstrationLA2015 Equestrian Manager Brian McQueeney reports: “Hilda Gurney, the 1976 Olympic Bronze Medalist in Dressage for the U.S., has agreed to do a musical freestyle demonstration and present awards to the athletes after.” Gurney will ride at 1700 on Thursday, 30 July, at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.Adding to the busy schedule at the Equestrian Center is the Foxfield Drill Team. Their demonstration, with 20-plus horses, will be held at noon on Friday, 31 July.

| This PDF edition of 127 pages (approximately 6 MB in size) includes details on the coverage logistics for the World Games and has detailed diagrams showing media access and parking, reserved seating locations, photo/video positions, interview areas and complete schedule information for each of the 25 sports and 23 venues. Preliminary contact information for the Media Operations managers who will assist you at each site is also provided. | |||||||||

World Games media credentials can be picked up beginning 20 July at 0900 at the LA2015 Media Operations Office and Workroom at the Los Angeles Convention Center. | ||||||||

On 20-21 July, the Media Operations Office and Workroom will be located on the meetingroom level in Room 306, open from 0900-1800. Beginning on 22 July, this facility will move to its permanent home in Room 408, open from 0900-1800 on 23 July, 0900-2100 on 24 July and 0700-2300 from 25 July-2 August. |

| Please note that in order to obtain your World Games credential: | |||||||||
| (1) | Credentials must be picked up in person and a government-issued identification document – with photograph – must be presented. | ||||||||
| Organizations with large numbers of credentials can have a single person pick up the entire lot at one time by following this procedure: | |||||||||
| (a) |
The publisher, editor or news director must contact Co-Senior Director/Media Operations Pat DiLeva ([email protected]) at least one day in advance to schedule this transaction. Please provide the name of the person who will be coming and what time to expect them. |
||||||||
| (b) |
The individual picking up the credentials must have (i) a government-issued photo identification with them as proof of identity and (ii) a physical letter on organization letterhead that authorizes that specific person – by name – to pick up the organization’s credentials. |
||||||||
| (2) |
Photographers and videographers will be able to obtain their World Games photo position-access bibs at the same time, but must agree to abide by the “Regulations for Photography and Videography” included in chapter 6 of the Guide for News Media – Interim Edition. |

| Organizations which received bulk credentials for their staff will not be provided with a bib for each person, but an allocation which must be shared. | |||||||||

For local media coming to the Convention Center by car to obtain their credentials, a courtesy parking pass was distributed by electronic mail to allow parking in the Venice Parking Garage of the Convention Center from 20-25 July 2015 (please see the map in the Guide for News Media – Interim Edition at page 36). |

Please print out a physical copy of this document and present it at the time you enter the Venice Parking Garage. Once you have received your LA2015 World Games credential, you may show it to access complimentary parking in the Venice Parking Garage during the Games. |

Credentials and Accommodations:
The 2015 World Games will welcome a record number of up to 1,500 news media to Los Angeles in July, and the credential application process is now closed.
The LA2015 hotel room block has been exhausted. Media desiring accommodations for the Games must make their own arrangements.
Delegations Welcome Center Notebook:
Delegation arrivals will occur primarily on 21 July at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), followed by immediate transport to Loyola Marymount University’s Gersten Pavilion for processing and transfer to Host Towns.
Media are strongly discouraged from trying to find teams as they land at LAX, as they will be moving through entry formalities into the U.S. in secured areas not accessible to news media.
However, LA2015 Media Operations will be on-site at Loyola Marymount to assist media wishing to see teams arrive at the Welcome Center. Interviews are possible, but are at the discretion of the Heads of Delegation of each team.
Preliminary scheduling of delegation arrivals at LMU on 21 July – completely subject to change – are listed below. Please note that some delegations may be shown to arrive at multiple times as parts of the delegations are on separate flights:

Please note: the Delegation Welcome Center is NOT open to the public. Individuals coming to the Delegation Welcome Center to visit the teams will be asked to leave.
Host Town Notebook:
Once delegations have been processed through the Delegation Welcome Center at Loyola Marymount University, they will be transferred by bus for a Host Town program in one of more than 100 California communities from San Luis Obispo to San Diego.
Host Town committees in each location will be responsible for all activities during the 21-24 July Host Town period, after which all delegations will return to Los Angeles for the World Games.

Communities from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, spread across nine California counties, will offer three days of Host Town experiences to Special Olympics delegations from 21-24 July. Many Host Town programs will be open to news media and a list of events and Host Town contacts will be published in advance of the Delegation arrivals on 21 July.
Opening Ceremonies Notebook:
Honorary World Games co-chair and U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama has confirmed her attendance at the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games on 25 July, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The show will be headlined by an all-star cast including Stevie Wonder, Avril Lavigne, Nicole Scherzinger, O.A.R., Cody Simpson, J Balvin, Becky G and “Reach Up LA” theme song creator Siedah Garrett.
Just added to the show was Cassadee Pope, the country music singer-songwriter, who was the winner in the third season of NBC’s “The Voice.”
The show will be directed by Emmy Award-winning choreographer Debbie Allen and produced by FiveCurrents with appearances by Jimmy Kimmel, Eva Longoria, Lauren Potter, Michael Phelps, Greg Louganis, Stephanie McMahon and others to be announced.
The program will take place on Saturday evening, 25 July 2015, from 6-9 p.m., with tickets on sale now via the www.LA2015.org Web site, in four price tiers of $120, $100, $60 and $30.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to use Metro to get to and from the Coliseum as parking availability will be significant curtailed from events normally held at the stadium.
Media accommodations at the Opening Ceremony will be restricted, but will include 147 seats with table (under shade) on the south side of the stadium, at least 118 additional seats without table in the stands and 150 places for photographers on the infield for the Parade of Athletes. A photographer’s workroom will also be provided in the USC football locker room just off the field level. Media tickets for the Opening Ceremony will be distributed at the Media Operations Office and Workroom at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
