The result: Junior's Deep-Fried Cheesecake, and starting today, patrons of the landmark Junior's location in Brooklyn can buy a slice or two or three, which is being served with a fully loaded lineup of over-the-top toppings.

"This is not an April's Fool joke," said Alan Rosen, Junior's third generation owner. "Everyone's a little fried these days. So we figured our cheesecake should be too. If this doesn't make you smile and wolf it down—or at least take a nap—you're doing dessert wrong."

Junior's is doing it totally right. They are serving the brand new flavor, but soon to be equally iconic as all its other two dozen plus flavors, served hot with a choose-your-own-adventure of sweet, salty, crunchy, and melty toppings. We're talking chocolate chips, mini gingerbread men, graham cracker crumbles, rainbow sprinkles, crushed Oreos, whipped cream, strawberry, caramel and chocolate sauces, blueberry, cherry,  and pineapple pie toppings, crumbled Reese's cups, rainbow marzipan cookies and Dutch Boy cookies, and, of course, that other New York dessert legend, Black-and-White cookies.
