InventHelp Inventors Develop Wet Extraction DNA Collection Device/Kit (MBQ-717)

August 20, 2025 2:00 PM EDT

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- "We thought there should be a way to collect minute pieces of evidence more efficiently than current DNA collection/sampling technology allows," said one of two inventors, from Vernon Center, N.Y., "so we invented the X-TRAX. Our portable design can be used by crime scene investigators in the field."

The patent-pending invention provides a wet DNA sample extraction kit. In doing so, it would allow a higher yield of DNA to be collected. As a result, it offers a faster process for sample collection versus current technology. The invention features a portable design that is easy to use in remote areas, at crime scenes, etc. so it is ideal for law enforcement, the military, etc. Additionally, a prototype model and technical drawings are available upon request.

The original design was submitted to the Manhattan sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
