E-mailInSoFast has expanded its X-Bracket System, adding three larger bracket sizes and a new bracket option, the Batt-Bracket, to serve a broader range of construction applications.
The expansion introduces additional sizing options across the bracket lineup, extending coverage to more project types in residential and light commercial construction. The additions are designed to give builders, contractors and installers greater flexibility when specifying continuous insulation brackets for new builds and retrofit work alike.
The X-Bracket and Batt-Bracket lines are separate from InSoFast Panels, the company's original product line and the foundation of its business since 2006. InSoFast Panels are rigid foam insulation boards with built-in framing studs, wiring chaseways and drainage channels, a design that holds U.S. patent protection. InSoFast Panels are unchanged by this expansion and continue to be sold alongside the bracket systems, including the company's basement insulation panels used for below-grade walls, as part of one broader continuous insulation lineup.
New X-Bracket Sizes Broaden Application Scope
The updated X-Bracket lineup now includes 5.5-inch, 7.5-inch and 9.5-inch sizes suited to a wider variety of wall assemblies, giving contractors more room to reach higher R-values. InSoFast says the larger brackets are engineered to withstand wind loads exceeding 200 mph and lateral loads over 300 pounds per square foot.
Batt-Bracket Adds a Lower-Cost Option for Continuous Insulation
The new Batt-Bracket is designed to hold standard batt insulation, such as mineral wool or wood-fiber batts, in a continuous configuration, positioning it as a lower-cost alternative to rigid foam continuous insulation systems. The bracket includes a built-in rainscreen gap intended to manage moisture behind exterior cladding.
"Our goal is to take the mystery out of high-performance building and make it accessible with tools that just work," said Matt Scherrer, commercial sales director at InSoFast.
Larger X-Bracket Sizes Target Retrofit Work
The larger X-Bracket sizes are also aimed at exterior wall insulation retrofit applications. Retrofitting existing structures presents distinct challenges compared with new construction, including integrating insulation with existing cladding attachment systems and meeting updated energy code requirements without full wall disassembly. InSoFast says the expanded sizes give contractors more flexibility to apply continuous insulation to existing buildings with fewer workarounds.
Expanding Versatility Across Project Types
The bracket expansion reflects a broadening of the use cases InSoFast targets, extending its reach to light commercial construction alongside residential applications. Contractors working across both markets can source components from a single system rather than specifying separate insulation products for different building types.
Installation methodology remains consistent with the existing product family, so contractors already familiar with InSoFast brackets can apply the same techniques to the new sizes without additional training or tooling changes.
