103 Years of Bringing Native Art to the World

SANTA FE, N.M., June 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) is pleased to release the 103^rd annual Santa Fe Indian Market schedule of events. For 103 years, the Santa Fe Indian Market has been held the third weekend of August, representing a promise from the City of Santa Fe to the original Native American participating artists. On August 16 and 17, 2025, nearly 1,000 of the world's most accomplished Native American artists in ten juried classifications will exhibit in and around the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe.

In the week leading up to the anticipated market weekend, ticketed events include the Best of Show Ceremony & Luncheon on Friday, August 15 at the Santa Fe Convention Center (SFCC) followed by the Sneak Peek and General Previews. This year's Get Indigenous Film Festival (GIFF) on Thursday, August 14, includes a screening of the Jim Thorpe: Lit by Lightning documentary directed by Chris Eyre (Cheyenne & Arapaho) at the New Mexico History Museum auditorium.

Saturday night's gala begins an hour earlier, this year at 5pm, with a cocktail reception in the SFCC courtyard. Gala guests will be entertained by a silent and live auction, a Patricia Michaels (Taos Pueblo) fashion show, and a performance by musician Robert Mirabal (Taos Pueblo).

Dallin Maybee (Seneca & Northern Arapaho) and Peshawn Bread (Comanche, Kiowa, Cherokee) will co-produce the SWAIA Native Fashion Show at Indian Market on Sunday, August 17 at 3pm. This year's participating designers include Jamie Okuma (Luiseno, Shoshone-Bannock, Wailaki, & Okinawan), Lauren Good Day (Arikara, Hidatsa, Blackfeet and Plains Cree), Penny Singer (Navajo), Osamuskwasis (Cree and Dene designer from Pigeon Lake, Alberta) and Jontay Kham (Plains Cree).
