HashNet Outlines How It Monitors and Maintains Its Mining Operations

November 2, 2026 4:30 AM EST

HashNet, the multi-currency mining company founded by Ian Issa in 2022, has outlined the processes it uses to monitor mining hardware, anticipate equipment issues, manage energy and cooling, and keep its operations running around the clock.

The approach combines AI-based monitoring, autonomous software, careful site selection and engineering oversight. HashNet mines six coins across four algorithms: SHA-256 (BTC, BCH), Scrypt (LTC, DOGE), Equihash (ZEC) and kHeavyHash (KAS).

1. Monitoring equipment

A large mining facility is one of the most data-rich environments in the industry. Every machine reports its temperature, power draw, fan speed, error rates and performance every few seconds.

In many operations, that data is logged and forgotten, with a person glancing at a dashboard and reacting to whatever looks wrong. HashNet puts it to work instead, using AI to review it continuously.

2. Identifying potential equipment issues

HashNet's AI models watch for the small patterns that come before failure: a slow rise in temperature, a subtle change in fan behaviour, or a run of minor errors. None of these is dramatic on its own, but together they are often the early warning.

"Catching a problem a day early is the difference between a planned swap and an unplanned outage," said Ian Issa, Founder of HashNet.

3. Automated operations within defined limits

HashNet's proprietary Alpha Engine scores every coin continuously and re-points hardware within each algorithm group in roughly 12 milliseconds (company-reported). The automation is software autonomy, not physical robots.

Engineers define the limits the Alpha Engine operates within, monitor its behaviour through alerts and reviews, and can step in at any time. When a model makes a decision that affects operations, HashNet keeps a record its team and reviewers can examine.

4. Managing energy and cooling

AI gives HashNet finer control over energy use. It helps balance load, manage cooling and spot waste that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Well-run, well-maintained hardware uses less power for the same work and lasts longer. Flagging problems early also means fewer premature replacements and less waste over time.

5. Site selection and hosting partners

HashNet weighs grid reliability, cooling climate, local regulation and energy source when choosing sites, not power price alone. It chooses sites on high-reliability grids and, where available, lower-carbon or surplus power.

HashNet's machines run in facilities operated by hosting partners, which hold their own facility licences in the jurisdictions where the machines run. HashNet Infrastructure LLC is licensed in the UAE.

6. Team responsibilities

At HashNet's size, something is always being installed, updated or repaired. Because automation runs continuously, engineers are freed from watching screens and focus on work that needs experience: setting limits, investigating anomalies and improving the system.

"Reliability is a discipline, not a feature," said Issa. In HashNet's view, uptime comes from process, monitoring, automation and a team that treats reliability as everyone's job.

Why monitoring matters at scale?

A tiny loss of efficiency on one machine is a rounding error. The same loss repeated across a fleet is a serious problem. Continuous monitoring lets HashNet catch these small signals, which no human team could track across every machine.

Ongoing operations

Monitoring, maintenance, energy management and engineering oversight work together to keep HashNet's operations running around the clock. The result customers see is Bitcoin paid on-chain to their wallets every eight hours, on public addresses they can verify on a block explorer.

About HashNet

HashNet is a multi-currency mining company founded by Ian Issa in 2022. Its proprietary Alpha Engine automatically switches mining hardware between coins that share the same algorithm, in roughly 12 milliseconds (company-reported). Output converts to Bitcoin and is paid on-chain to customer wallets every eight hours. HashNet Infrastructure LLC is licensed in the UAE, and HashNet was featured among the top five multi-crypto miners in ZyCrypto's 2026 review.
