Frederick Health Wins National Awards from American Heart Association

As recognition of those efforts, Frederick Health has received three nationally recognized awards from the American Heart Association for implementing specific quality care improvement measures.

This is the fourth year in a row that Frederick Health has earned these awards.

The goal of Get With The Guidelines is to reduce system barriers to prompt, quick, reliable treatment for heart attacks, categorized as STEMI or NSTEMI, and stroke. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people experience heart attacks or a stroke. Last year, Frederick Health treated over 2,160 cardiac patients and over 500 stroke patients.

Get With The Guidelines - Stroke is an in-hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to these guidelines, which can minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and even prevent death.
