Fallen Firefighter to be Memorialized with Van

Staten Island, New York (PRWEB) November 13, 2015

In a special ceremony, prior to the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Island Auto Group, a van will be donated in memory of Lt. Gordon "Matt" Ambelas, who died in the line of duty while looking for victims during a fire at the Independence Towers, Brooklyn, in 2014. The van will be donated by Island Auto Group to the "Fire Family Transport Foundation," a non-profit organization. The foundation and its volunteers provide transportation to firefighters and family members to and from medical institutions. This ceremony will include the presentation of colors, singing of the national anthem and bagpipe accompaniment; Borough President James Oddo will also attend.

Island Auto Group, located on Hylan Boulevard, is now one of the largest private employers on Staten Island. The group is made up of 13 brands, which include Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Subaru, Mazda, Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Scion, Fiat, Mitsubishi & Volkswagen.
