Ethernet Alliance Experts Shine Light on Ethernet Roadmap at ECOC 2015

BEAVERTON, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, today announced it is bringing a discussion of the organization’s recently launched 2015 Ethernet Roadmap and Ethernet’s new optical modules to European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC 2015) attendees. ECOC 2015 will be held September 27 – October 1, 2015 in Valencia, Spain. After a brief overview, the panel will focus on future optical modules for 200GbE and 400GbE.

WHAT: A slew of new projects and proposed speeds are carrying Ethernet into an array of higher speeds and applications. With this ongoing diversification and several new module types, optical modules are set to play a key role in Ethernet’s future. In a panel chaired by Scott Kipp, president, Ethernet Alliance; and principal technologist, Brocade, expert panelists Chris Cole, director, Finisar, and Jeff Maki, distinguished engineer II, Juniper Networks, will share insight into the Ethernet Alliance 2015 Ethernet Roadmap, as well as discussing the growing array of optical technologies being developed for Ethernet, including Micro Quad Small-Form-Factor Pluggable (µQSFP), Double Density QSFP (QSFP-DD), CFP8, and the Consortium of On-Board-Optics (COBO) .

WHEN & WHERE: “The 2015 Ethernet Roadmap” panel will be held from 15:15 – 15:45pm CEST on Monday, September 28, 2015 during ECOC 2015 at the Feria Valencia Convention and Exhibition Centre, Valencia, Spain.
