He is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Translational Medicine and formerly served as the Chief of the Infectious Disease and Immunogenetics Section at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has authored or co-authored more than 700 peer-reviewed scientific papers, making him one of the most published figures in modern immunological science. He is also a Past-President of the Society for the Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC).
