Cook Brothers Scholarship 2015 Recipients Announced

November 2, 2015 12:40 PM EST

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Charlie and Howard Cook, the founders of Community Bank, believed in the importance of education and provided a scholarship fund for the children and grandchildren of their employees. In 2014, the Cook family and Community Bank brought back the scholarship fund and awarded seven scholarships.

The Bank and the Cook family are pleased to announce that in 2015 the scholarship program grew to a total of 22 recipients. The Bank gave out nearly $50,000 in awards to these deserving young men and women.

At a time when other banks and financial institutions are paring down employee benefits, Community Bank and the Cook family saw the need to reinstate the scholarship program for their employees’ children and grandchildren. The Cook family is extremely proud of the growth and success of the Cook Brothers Scholarship Program.

Our scholarship recipients over the past two years have been dedicated to their educational studies. They work diligently to achieve superior grades, provide leadership in campus activities, and volunteer their time and efforts in giving back to their respective communities.

The Community Bank Board of Directors and the Cook family congratulate our 2015 Cook Brothers Scholarship recipients and look forward to the ongoing success of this program for many years to come.

Congratulations to the 2015 Cook Brothers Scholarship recipients Melissa Bautista, Isabella Barrett-Jusay, Tiffany Brugge-McCree, Andrew Dang, Raymond Dang, Alison Day, Jasmine Demarillas, David Echavarria, Andrew Gage, Joshua Garcia, Erin Gray, Kristin Jones, Grace Kenny, Kaitlyn Lawson, Cameron Marsh, Hunter Mercadefe, Jake Mercadefe, Kelly Nunez, Lauren Perkins, Elizabeth Stevenson, Allison Tearjen, and Valerie Yanez.
