Consumers Energy Announces New Members of the Executive Team

Vice Presidents named to lead Generation Operations, Lean, and Commercial Supply

JACKSON, Mich., June 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers Energy today announced three new executives who will join its leadership team.

Jean Kang, executive director of electric operations, will be named vice president of generation operations. Anita Griffin, executive director of strategy and projects in our electric supply department, will be named vice president of commercial operations and planning. Amanda Gomez, executive director of analytics and systems in our digital department, will be promoted to vice president of lean operations. The changes are effective July 1.

Kang first joined Consumers Energy in 2002 as a gas distribution engineer and has held positions in planning and scheduling, customer operations and electric operations leading our statewide high voltage and low voltage grid operations and emergency restoration response. Jean has also previously led our fossil-fuel generation units. She holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University.

Griffin joined Consumers Energy in 2015 and has worked in the energy industry for 18 years. She began at Consumers Energy in a strategist role for customer operations and she has held other positions in customer strategy, data analytics, regulatory strategy and most recently in electric supply. As executive director of electric supply strategy, Griffin is responsible for the development and implementation of the company's 20-year strategic plan. Anita has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.

Gomez currently serves as executive director of analytics and digital products. She has over 18 years of experience in the energy industry, starting as a contact center representative and holding other leadership positions in customer operations, process optimization, operational strategy and analytics. Gomez holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Davenport University and a Master's of Business Administration from Spring Arbor University.
