Community Options Appoints Derek Shive as Regional Director in Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Options, a leading national nonprofit supporting people with disabilities, is proud to announce the appointment of Derek Shive as Regional Director of Central Pennsylvania. This appointment aligns with the organization's recent recognition as a Select Tier provider.

With more than a decade of experience, Shive brings a wealth of leadership and innovation to the Central Region. In his new role, he will oversee operations and the development of services for people with disabilities. Community Options supports 7,000 people nationwide, including 450 in Pennsylvania.

The timing of this appointment coincides with Community Options' recognition as a Select Tier provider under Pennsylvania's new performance-based contracting. This recognition is a testament to Community Options' high standards in service delivery, regulatory compliance, and community engagement.
