City Veterans’ Network first charity dinner targets six figure sum
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The City Veterans’ Network (CVN) inaugural Charity Gala Dinner will be held on November 5 2015 at the Imperial War Museum, and hopes to raise a six figure sum for three different charities.
CVN comprises members firms from across the UK financial services industry and is dedicated to sharing ideas and experiences about the best ways to employ ex-servicemen and women. It was formed in October 2014.
The upcoming gala dinner will raise funds for Combat Stress, the leading veteran’s mental health charity, Blesma, which helps limbless veterans and their families, and SkillForce, which uses ex-Forces personnel and the values they learnt to inspire young people.
“We are honoured and proud to have taken a leading role in the employment of ex-military personnel, and welcome the unique qualities that they can bring to an institution like Citi,” said EMEA chief executive of Citi, Jim Cowles. “I urge colleagues in financial services to support this gala dinner and the three charities for which CVN will be raising much-needed funds,” he added.
Over 320 people will be at the dinner and tables have been taken by institutions throughout the City, including banks, legal firms, asset management funds and consultancies. An auction of donated events and items will be held during the dinner, which, in addition to pledges, will furnish funds for the charities.
A launch party to announce the gala dinner will be held at Loulou’s, in Mayfair, on September 15.
