Centaurus Financial, Inc., Sponsors Idaho Animal Shelter Fundraiser

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho, July 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Companions Animal Center is the only facility in town for lost, abandoned, surrendered or otherwise unwanted animals in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Centaurus Financial, Inc., an independent broker/dealer based in Anaheim, California, with a Corporate Office in the Coeur d'Alene area, saw the need and stepped up to be the 2025 top sponsor for the animal shelter's biggest fundraiser of the year.

Tails at Twilight is an annual event that raises money for the organization's many programs for both residents and animals. These programs include low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinics, microchipping, licensing and more. The shelter also takes in stray animals and those being surrendered by owners, space permitting, and works to find new homes for them.

"We are the only physical shelter in the area," says Vicky Nelson, development director for Companions Animal Center. "There are other rescues, but they are foster-based." Such smaller groups can't take in the number of animals Companions can house because they lack a physical building. Their animals are placed with foster caregivers until permanent homes are found.

"More sponsors are needed for Tails at Twilight; the shelter would like to have 15," Nelson said. "We would love to have anyone sponsor us, or just come out and visit and possibly adopt," she added. "To have the Kings be there constantly when we need them is a godsend."

This year marks the 20^th event and is called "Hearts of Gold." It asks the question, "Do you have a heart of gold for animals?" Centaurus does; its $25,000 donation to the shelter will provide much-needed funds for its programs, Nelson said.

"Companions, which used to be the Kootenai Humane Society, has built a beautiful facility to help the animals in Coeur d'Alene and the surrounding areas. Centaurus is proud to be able to provide support to help it grow and continue its mission," said Ron King, CEO of Centaurus.
