Carolina PR Changes Name to Chernoff Newman
Name change marks final phase of firms' merger and brand integration
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Chernoff Newman, one of the Southeast's leading integrated marketing communications firms, is retiring Carolina PR from its brand identity in Charlotte following the two firms' merger in 2014.
"Chernoff Newman had been using the hybrid name Carolina PR | Chernoff Newman to build off Carolina PR's strong reputation in the region and the Carolinas," said David Campbell, president and chief operating officer of the firm.
"You do not throw away more than three decades of great brand equity," he said. "Keeping 'Carolina PR' gave our newly combined firm a solid footing to operate from in Charlotte. That phase has been completed as our agency services and cultures are now fully integrated."
Founded in 1971, Chernoff Newman is headquartered in Columbia, S.C., and has offices in Charleston, S.C., and Orlando, Fla., in addition to Charlotte. The award-winning agency has deep category experience in food & beverage, healthcare, energy, education/workforce development, engineering & infrastructure, and financial/insurance/real estate. In addition to public relations, in-house capabilities include digital experiences, social campaigns, advertising, marketing strategy, branding, creative and media services.
Carolina PR was founded in 1983. Longtime principals Louise Dixon, APR, and Adam Bernstein, APR, are part of Chernoff Newman's management group. Sig Huitt, APR, founding partner of Carolina PR, continues as a senior counselor. The office is located at 1017 E. Morehead St.
