Big Wave Group Appoints Jennifer Senecal As First Executive Director

Seasoned nonprofit leader to guide operations at new Big Wave Center in Half Moon Bay

HALF MOON BAY, Calif., Oct. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Big Wave Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a place to belong for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), proudly announces the appointment of Jennifer Senecal as its first Executive Director.

In this new leadership role, Senecal will oversee daily operations at both the Big Wave Center and Big Wave Farm, as well as spearhead community engagement and fundraising efforts. The Big Wave Center – set to open in Spring 2026 – will offer access to social and educational programs, housing, and a sense of belonging for Bay Area adults with IDD.

Senecal brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently serving as Regional Director at AbilityPath, where she oversaw programs supporting more than 400 adults with IDD. Throughout her career, including roles at Easter Seals Bay Area, Autism Hearts Foundation, and Lifehouse Agency, she has developed inclusive programs and systems from the ground up, forged strong community partnerships, and advocated for equity for individuals with disabilities.
