Betty Ford Center Unveils Next Phase of Campus Transformation

New and renovated spaces will strengthen the Betty Ford Center’s position as a national leader in addiction treatment and recovery

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation today shared new renderings and plans for the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, offering a first look at the next phase of a $40M campus transformation that will expand capacity and support the Center’s vision for the future of addiction treatment and recovery.

This phase includes construction of a new 60-bed residential pavilion and a dining hall, with completion anticipated in the third quarter of 2027. The residential pavilion will expand the Center’s capacity to deliver personalized addiction treatment to more individuals, while adding counseling and group space designed to support integrated behavioral health care for people with co-occurring mental health conditions. This will be followed by a comprehensive renovation of the existing residential halls.

The campus transformation will also strengthen the Betty Ford Center’s role as a community resource for recovery. A third phase includes the redevelopment of current dining facilities into a community center for meetings, outreach and education, as well as expanded fitness and wellness areas, as resources for patients, families, alumni and the broader community.

This next phase of the $40M campus transformation builds on several years of improvements, including a new public entrance on Vista Del Sol Road, and site and infrastructure upgrades. The investment follows the Betty Ford Center's recent recognition as Newsweek's No. 1-ranked residential addiction treatment center in California for 2026. Philanthropic support for this project includes lead gifts from the Daniels Fund and Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation trustees.
