Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Names Chaman Aggarwal Property Underwriting Officer

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) today announced the appointment of Chaman Aggarwal as Vice President, Property Underwriting Officer, adding greater depth to its global property team.

"Chaman brings more than 35 years of property underwriting and engineering experience to BHSI,” said Dean LaPierre, Senior Vice President, Global Property Underwriting Officer, BHSI. “Chaman joins Cathy Miller, Vice President, Property Underwriting Officer and I in supporting our rapidly expanding property portfolio worldwide.”

Chaman comes to BHSI from XL Catlin Canada, where he held leadership positions in the Property group. Before that, Chaman was Senior Vice President, National Energy Construction Practice Leader, at Marsh in Houston, and Vice President, Property Construction, at Liberty International Underwriters. Earlier in his career, he held various positions in underwriting and engineering at insurers and reinsurers in the U.S., Bermuda and Canada.

Chaman holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta (Canada).

Chaman will be based in BHSI’s Toronto office.
