BandM8 Expands Its Open Beta Music Creative Tools

NEW YORK, Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As musicians navigate a rapidly changing landscape of assisted and generated music technology, BandM8 is approaching the conversation with a simple idea: start with the musician.

BandM8, the free music-to-music technology platform, has expanded its Open Beta with new creative and production tools designed to help musicians develop their own musical ideas rather than generate music for them.

Unlike text-to-music platforms that begin with a written prompt, BandM8 starts with something a musician plays — a guitar riff, keyboard progression, melody or beat. The MIDI-based platform listens and builds responsive accompaniment around that performance, allowing the musician to remain at the center of the creative process and retain ownership of what they create.

BandM8’s latest updates include:

• Generation speeds up by 80 percent, reducing the delay between an idea and responsive accompaniment.
• Real-time mixing controls for elements including volume, reverb, and panning while creators work.
• Stem export, giving musicians individual tracks, a final mix, and MIDI so they can continue developing their music within existing production workflows.
  

BandM8 is also expanding how its technology connects with the broader music ecosystem. The platform recently launched on Audiotool’s NEXUS SDK, demonstrating how responsive music technology can be integrated into a larger digital creation environment.
