Sponsorship Powers Second Annual Festival

HOUSTON, Feb. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- BKV Energy, a residential electricity provider in Texas, is expanding its work empowering conservation efforts, Texas' green spaces and the communities which it serves, as Presenting Sponsor of  Houston Botanic Garden's Bayou Blues Festival. Taking place March 9, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., the Festival serves to kick off bluebonnet season. Additionally, as Houston Botanic Garden Bluebonnet Fields' Presenting Sponsor, the customer-driven provider encourages Houstonians to enjoy the fields once the flowers begin to bloom.

In addition to the lineup of talented musicians, attendees are invited to:

• Snap photos in front of the Garden's bluebonnet field (should the native flower already be in bloom);
• Explore the Family Fun Zone featuring bluebonnet-themed crafts, games, face painting, and more.
• Peruse the market featuring local vendors and plants from the Garden;
• Browse information stations staffed by select nonprofit organizations.

Access to the entire Garden, including the "Habitat" exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, will also be part of the Bayou Blues experience.

The event's all-female lineup was curated by award-winning blues singer and Houstonian Annika Chambers.

Performances will take place near the banks of Sims Bayou at the following times:

• 11 a.m. - noon - Lindsay Beaver
• 12:15 - 1:30 p.m. - Soul Supporters
• 1:45 - 3:15 p.m. - Carolyn Wonderland and Shelley King Duo
• 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. - "A Tribute to Texas Blues Women" - Chambers DesLauriers Band with special guests
