NEWARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Aztron Medtech Corporation, a privately held orthopedic device company, today announced that its Taiwan subsidiary, Astron Medtech Co., Ltd., has received the Presidential Award, the highest honor presented through Taiwan's National Development Council (NDC) Startup Program, together with a NT$10 million grand prize. The award recognizes the company's innovation and commercial achievements following a rigorous nine-month competition. Co-founder and CEO Yi-Hsi Huang delivered the company's final presentation, earning 1st place out of nearly 3,000 startups nationwide. The Presidential Award recognizes companies demonstrating exceptional innovation, commercialization potential, and economic impact.
"This award validates both our technology and our ability to make a meaningful impact in the global orthopedic market," said Yi-Hsi Huang, CEO of Astron Medtech Co., Ltd. "As we continue expanding adoption of the TendMIN® system across the United States, we remain committed to working alongside surgeons to bring next-generation minimally invasive orthopedic technology to more patients."
The company's recent achievements also extend to its leadership team. Co-founder and COO I-Lin Tsai was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026 list in the Healthcare & Science category, recognizing emerging leaders driving innovation across the healthcare industry.
These recognitions reflect Aztron Medtech's continued commercial momentum in the United States, where the TendMIN® system has now surpassed 200 clinical procedures across U.S. hospitals and surgical centers. Building on this milestone, the company continues to expand collaborations with leading surgeons, strengthen its commercial partnerships, and generate clinical evidence to support the broader adoption of minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair. The company expects to pursue its next financing round later this year to support continued product development, commercial expansion, and international growth.
