Atlantic Digestive Specialists Notifies Individuals of Data Security Incident

SOMERSWORTH, N.H., Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlantic Digestive Specialists ("Atlantic Digestive") has learned of a data security incident that may have involved protected health information. Atlantic Digestive has sent notice of this incident to potentially affected individuals and provided resources to assist them.

In March 2026, Atlantic Digestive was alerted to suspicious activity in its network. In response, Atlantic Digestive immediately took measures to ensure our network was secure and initiated an investigation to determine the full nature and scope of the event. Atlantic Digestive also engaged cybersecurity experts to assist with this process. The investigation determined that some information may have been viewed or acquired without authorization between March 16, 2026 – March 17, 2026. Atlantic Digestive conducted a comprehensive review of all potentially affected information. The review, which concluded in August 2026, determined that some personal or protected health information was contained in the potentially affected data. Atlantic Digestive then took steps to locate contact information needed to notify individuals. At the conclusion of this process on September 8, 2026, Atlantic Digestive arranged for notification to potentially affected individuals.

Based on Atlantic Digestive's review, the following protected health information for individuals may have been involved in the incident: first and last name, Social Security number,  driver's license or state identification number, date of birth, financial account information, payment card information, alien registration number, taxpayer identification number, passport number, clinical information, diagnosis, medical history, medical record number, medical treatment/procedure information, mental or physical condition, prescription information, Medicaid / Medicare number, medical cost, medical dates of service, medical provider name, patient account number, health insurance policy-related number, username and password information, and digital / electronic signature. Atlantic Digestive provided notice of this incident to potentially impacted individuals beginning on September 30, 2026.

Atlantic Digestive has established a toll-free call center to answer questions about the incident and address related concerns. Call center representatives are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm Eastern Time, excluding U.S. holidays and can be reached at 1-866-200-0962.
