Ascend Analytics Appoints Matthew Boyda as Chief Product Officer

Energy technology veteran joins to advance product innovation across Ascend's forecasting, valuation, and optimization solutions driving the energy transition

BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ascend Analytics ("Ascend"), the leading provider of market intelligence and analytics solutions for the power industry, today announced the appointment of Matthew Boyda as Chief Product Officer. Boyda will lead the product and analyst teams advancing the forecasting, valuation, and bid optimization solutions that leading market participants rely on to trade, develop, procure, and finance power assets.

Boyda brings more than 20 years of experience in energy technology, building forecasting and analytics products for the people who trade and develop power. He co-founded Energytics, which was acquired by Genscape, and subsequently joined Wood Mackenzie through the Genscape acquisition, spending 16 years across those businesses. Most recently, as Senior Vice President, Power & Renewables, he led both product and industry research and grew the business into a large global operation serving the world's leading energy trading houses. His work also expanded into hyperscale data center operators, supporting large-load power procurement and grid interconnection, areas he will increasingly focus on at Ascend.
