Altec CEO Urges Congress To Act On Immigration Reform
BIRMINGHAM, ALA., July 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Altec's Chairman and CEO, Lee Styslinger III joined with other CEOs of America's leading companies in calling on Congress to work with the Obama Administration to fix America's immigration system. Styslinger is a member of the Business Roundtable (BRT), an association of corporate leaders working to promote sound public policy to strengthen and grow the U.S. economy.
"Our current immigration system is clearly broken and fails to meet the needs of the U.S. economy," said Styslinger. "Sensible immigration reform would help to significantly increase GDP and would benefit America's workforce through productivity and wage improvements. In addition, fixing the immigration system would improve the country's long-term fiscal outlook by significantly decreasing federal deficits. We look forward to working with congressional leaders and the administration to help craft an immigration policy that strengthens our national security and boosts economic growth."
Styslinger was a key member of George W. Bush's Export Council and was responsible for advising the President on government programs that affected U.S. trade performance, export expansion and immigration policy.
Business Roundtable is an association of chief executive officers of leading U.S. companies. BRT member companies produce $7.4 trillion in annual revenues and employ more than 16 million people. Member companies also invest $158 billion annually in research and development.
Altec is a leading equipment and service provider for the electric utility, telecommunications, contractor, lights and signs, and tree care markets. The company provides products and services in more than 100 countries throughout the world.
