21st Century’s Defining Icons to be Chronicled through Global Merit Poll

Results of the poll for Quarticentennial Merit Gazette to be announced in due course.

LONDON//

A landmark global initiative, the Quarticentennial Merited Impacts Gazette© (2000-2025), has formally opened its international opinion poll, inviting citizens worldwide to participate in identifying the most transformative figures of the 21st century’s first quarter.

Developed by Impact Hallmarks (IH©), the project represents a 25-year retrospective designed to chronicle individuals who have fundamentally reshaped the human narrative through measurable and enduring contributions.

Framed as a historic system for documenting global progress, the Gazette is built upon a merit-bound philosophical foundation named Axiological Architecture, a system that evaluates impact through the centricity perspectives; human-centricity, knowledge-centricity, nature-centricity, and holistic perspective. Rather than relying on popularity matrix or visibility index, the initiative prioritises evidence-backed achievements and long-term influence, ensuring that recognition is grounded in substantive contributions to humanity and society.

The selection process has distilled almost 183 icons from an initial pool of 1.9 million individuals across 195 countries, presenting a well curated selection-slate that reflects diverse domains of excellence. These include humanitarian leadership, scientific innovation, environmental stewardship, resilience, athletics, youth-led change, and posthumous legacy contributions. The project’s organisers describe the Gazette as the ‘Categorical Mirror of Rectitude ’ for the 21st-century, capturing those who have not merely witnessed history but actively re-engineered it.

Spanning the vast spatio-temporal tapestry of our era—from the towering mountains of human ambition to the deepest oceans of scientific discovery—every pulse of progress is captured here.

From the soaring mountains of China to the searing deserts of Africa, and from the first sunrise of 2000 to the final sunset of December 2025 — from Chen Si and Yukio Shige to Greta Thunberg and Francesca Albanese, from Stephen Soldz to King Charles — from Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi Lionel to Prince Harry; from Melanie O’Brien to Scott Ruskan and Kailash Satyarthi — from polymathic icons like, Systems Theorist Fritjof Capra and Arch-Researcher Aurangzeb Hafi to Gordon L. Kane and

Don Nelson Page — from trailblazers like Usain Bolt to Elon Musk; — from Rana Dajani to Muna Abu Sulayman and Aya Chebbi — in youngest voices from Orion Jean to Fiddhah Hafiah and Ghulam Bishar Hafi—and finally, from posthumous legacy icons like Nelson Mandela to Bilquis Edhi and Ruth Pfau — all are presented hereby to be voted for the Quarticentennial Merit Gazette, amplifies the IH© ballot prologue.

The evaluation framework stresses systemic transformation, causal impact, and temporal relevance. Contributions are assessed for their ability to drive structural change, demonstrate measurable outcomes, and sustain influence over a projected multi-decade horizon. This approach ensures that the Gazette reflects not only immediate achievements but also their enduring resonance across generations.

Organised into strategic thematic quadrants, the shortlist spans categories such as Humanitarianism & Social Justice, Scientific Endeavours & Innovation, Resilience & Nature-Centricity, Differently Able Icons, Athletics, Paradigm Trailblazing, and Young Trailblazing Icons. The inclusion of a Legacy Memorial category further honours individuals whose contributions continue to shape contemporary thought and action beyond their lifetimes.

The initiative underscores that the essence of merit lies in documented impact, systemic reform, and the expansion of human potential, rather than transient recognition.

The global poll is now open for public participation, allowing individuals to select icons whose contributions have most significantly shaped their worldview and collective human progress.

Impact Hallmarks© makes it very clear that the voting process serves as a ‘validation layer’, aligning public perception with evidence-based merit.

The final outcomes would be compiled into the Quarticentennial Impacts Gazette Commemorative Index, envisioned as a definitive historical record of the first quarter of the 21st century.

By capturing the architects of resilience, the pioneers of knowledge, and the guardians of humanitarian values, the initiative seeks to preserve a legacy of impact defined not by fame, but by the enduring advancement of humanity.

Global participation is currently open via official platform at:

To maintain the “Sovereignty of Unadorned Merit,” the defining motto of Impact Hallmarks remains clear and unwavering: “Meriting the Merited Impacts — Valuing the Impact Value.”

The final adjudicated results are expected to be announced following the close of the polling cycle.
