The Trump administration is slapping visa bans on Chinese officials linked to mass detention of Muslims in Xinjiang province, according to Bloomberg.

Pompeo is imposing the restriction on government leaders and Communist Party officials who are found response for or complicit in the detention and abuse of Uighurs, ethnic Kazakhs and other minority Muslim groups, the report said. Travel by those officials' family members will also be restricted.

The move comes as the Chinese trade delegation is expected in Washington.

Major U.S. indexes declined following the report.
