In 2011, AAKP hosted a groundbreaking discussion at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center that highlighted the direct link between outdated kidney dialysis care and patient unemployment, marking the first time a national kidney organization targeted greater innovation specifically to end economic dependency and increase patient survival.

The AAKP National Patient Meeting is the premier in-person and online kidney patient and care partner event. The program includes top healthcare and policy influencers, academic research experts, innovation leaders from top pharmaceutical, device, and diagnostic companies, and major nonprofit organizations.
