Kelly A. Powell-Smith, PhD, is an author, professor, and school psychologist with more than 30 years of experience. She advances literacy through evidence-based practices, high-quality assessment, and systems-level change, supporting educators through research, teaching, and professional learning.

Beth A. Madden is a K–5 instructional coach who supports teachers in implementing evidence-based literacy practices within a multitiered system of supports. Her experience includes classroom teaching, intervention, instructional coaching, curriculum development, and educator preparation.
