San Diego Philanthropist David Malcolm Launches Spring 2025 Scholarship

The David Malcolm Scholarship is now open, and applications will be accepted from March 1 to May 31.

SAN DIEGO, March 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The David Malcolm Scholarship is now accepting applications for Spring 2025. Starting March 1, 2025, outstanding students who have demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity will have the opportunity to apply for this $2,500 scholarship. The scholarship rewards academic achievement, community involvement, and a dedication to creating a positive impact, providing students with the support they need to thrive on their educational journey.

David Malcolm, a philanthropist and businessman based in San Diego, established this scholarship to recognize and assist students who have shown perseverance and tenacity. As a Harvard Business School Presidents Program graduate who built a distinguished career despite not earning a college degree, Malcolm understands the value of hard work and determination. Through this scholarship, he aims to help students overcome obstacles and succeed.

To apply, students must submit a 1,000-word essay outlining the challenges they have overcome, the obstacles they continue to face, and how the scholarship will support their educational goals. Applicants can also share how they are or plan to give back to their community.

Eligible applicants include high school seniors who have been accepted into an accredited college or university, as well as current full-time college students enrolled at accredited institutions. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required to apply.
