Saint Anthony Hospital Providing Free Immunizations to Kids During RSV Season

RSV Immunizations Provided to Uninsured and Underinsured Children

CHICAGO, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Saint Anthony Hospital is protecting the most vulnerable by providing qualifying patients free immunizations to those under the age of 19, including newborns, who are uninsured or underinsured from Oct. 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027.

Last RSV season, Saint Anthony Hospital ranked No. 1 in Chicago for newborns vaccinated within two days of birth and able to protect over 72% of newborns who were eligible through the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC).

Remarkably, 89% of all Saint Anthony Hospital births were deemed VFC-eligible, compared to Chicago's overall average of 46%.

One of the following requirements is needed to qualify for the VFC Program:

• 19 years of age or under
• Medicaid-eligible
• Uninsured
• American Indian or Alaska Native
• Underinsured

"Our community is susceptible to RSV because many don't have the means to get the proper vaccines to protect themselves. RSV can quickly spread days before symptoms appear and by protecting the community, it will slow transmission, especially for those with weakened immune systems, such as infants.
