SOCAR Trading SA Appoints Natig Mustafayev as Chief Executive Officer

GENEVA, April 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- SOCAR Trading SA is pleased to announce the appointment of Natig Mustafayev as Chief Executive Officer, effective today. Mustafayev has served as the company's Chief Commercial Strategy Officer since September 2024. With nearly two decades of experience in global financial markets and investment strategies in sovereign credit, he brings deep expertise in emerging markets, international trade and managing risk to the role.

Prior to joining SOCAR, Mustafayev held senior roles at Credit Suisse Securities in London and since 2014 at Barings in London and Boston serving as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Debt portfolios, with $15bn AUM at the peak. He is a highly regarded macroeconomist and accomplished portfolio manager, with deep expertise in developing investment strategies and leading high-performance teams. Mustafayev has experience in building and leading businesses and teams in investment strategies where he has worked with government officials, economic policy makers and corporates ensuring successful decision making and returns. His career spans both the private and public sectors, including senior positions at the Securities Commission of Azerbaijan and as Commercial Analyst at BP Azerbaijan.
