The Sustainability-Driven Packaging Overhaul Swaps Tetra for 100% Recyclable Aluminum Bottles Amid Rapid Brand Growth

NEW YORK, April 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Saint James Iced Tea, the fastest-growing iced tea brand in the U.S., is taking a bold step forward in their ongoing commitment to sustainability with a packaging relaunch. Beginning this month, the brand's new 100% recyclable aluminum bottles will roll out nationwide, replacing its previous Tetra packaging as retailers make the switch. This milestone underscores Saint James' dedication to eco-efficient production, while delivering the same premium, organic iced tea that has made it a category leader.

Saint James's commitment to end-to-end sustainability begins with ethical farming practices from certified organic and fair trade sources. The switch to aluminum bottles allows for the final product – a high-quality, low-to-no calorie, low-sugar iced tea – to be made using reduced energy and materials that can be reused indefinitely, minimizing landfill waste. The new bottles also present a refreshed label design, featuring vibrant color gradients and updated versions of the brand's iconic flavor-forward, fruity, illustrations.

"After experiencing such remarkable growth in the past few years, Saint James is thrilled to take this significant step forward in our brand journey," says co-founder and CEO of Saint James, Brad Neumann. "We wanted to remain portable and resealable, but saw an opportunity to provide a more refreshing experience to our customers–by keeping our products colder and flavors fresher, for longer. Ultimately, the switch to aluminum felt like a natural evolution of our commitment to delivering Iced Tea As It Should Be—good for both our customers and our planet."

As an official sponsor of the upcoming Stagecoach Festival (April 25-27), Saint James will debut its new aluminum bottles at their Saint James Saloon activation (open to all ticketholders) and all concession stands throughout the festival. The bottles will also be going on tour this Summer, stopping in several major cities with the Saint James Mobile Truck Tour.

The packaging upgrade coincides with an exciting executive team expansion, as Ed Thomas joins the brand as Vice President of National Accounts. Thomas joins Saint James after 8 years with Spindrift where he served as the Vice President of Sales - National Accounts and helped scale the brands revenue from just $20M to $350M+ culminating in acquisition in early 2025. Thomas will be leading up Saint James sales and distribution strategy and managing relationships with retailers across both the U.S. and Canadian markets.

"Ed brings a wealth of industry experience and expertise to our leadership team, and we are confident he will play a pivotal role in driving Saint James's ongoing success," says Neumann. "As the most senior addition to our rapidly-expanding team to date, his hire marks a true milestone for the brand, underscoring our commitment to strengthening our leadership as we continue on a trajectory of rapid growth."

Saint James' new aluminum bottles will launch on Amazon on Earth Day, April 22nd, and hit shelves at major retailers such as Albertsons, Safeway, Kroger, Fred Meyers, Ralphs, King Soopers, Hannaford, and The Fresh Market later this month. Updated bottles will be available in Targets nationwide in September. Saint James Iced Tea's top-selling flavors, including Passion Fruit & Peach, Red Raspberry, Classic Lemon, Pineapple & Mango, and Blood Orange & Hibiscus.
