Reality Defender Partners with Hume AI to Advance Responsible Voice AI Development

Leading deepfake detection platform collaborates with real-time AI voice pioneer to strengthen defenses against synthetic voice threats

NEW YORK, Aug. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Reality Defender, the RSA Innovation Award-winning deepfake detection platform, today announced a strategic partnership with Hume AI, a research-driven technology company building Voice AI that understands and responds to human emotion. The collaboration enables Reality Defender to gain early access to Hume's cutting-edge voice AI models, supporting the platform's ability to address and prevent sophisticated voice deepfakes before they become widespread.

Through this partnership, Reality Defender will leverage insights from Hume's voice AI models to inform ongoing research and strengthen its platform's ability to address evolving audio-based threats. Both companies have set a standard for using AI as a force for good, proactively defending against threats and promoting the responsible development of transformative technologies.

"Partnering with Hume AI represents a critical step forward in our mission to enable trust in an AI-powered world," said Ben Colman, CEO and Co-Founder of Reality Defender. "By striking this collaboration between industry leaders in AI generation and AI defense, we can further expand our next-generation voice detection and stop bad actors in their tracks. This collaboration exemplifies how AI companies can work together to ensure innovation doesn't come at the cost of security or trust."

"The more realistic Hume's voice AI gets, the more important it is to take preventative measures to ensure it's used ethically and securely. We're excited to collaborate with Reality Defender closely on this initiative," said Janet Ho, COO of Hume AI.

The partnership comes as both companies have successfully launched their respective APIs — Reality Defender's deepfake detection API and Hume's Empathic Voice Interface (EVI) API — marking a significant milestone in making advanced AI capabilities more accessible while maintaining robust safeguards against misuse. By working together, Reality Defender and Hume AI are setting a new standard for collaboration in the AI industry, ensuring that innovation and accessibility go hand in hand with security and ethical responsibility.
