Rural health center adopts Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent to help reduce administrative burden, improve patient and provider experiences

AUSTIN, Texas, July 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Patterson Health Center (PHC) is using Oracle Health CommunityWorks to drive efficiency across its clinical and financial operations to help improve patient care in rural Kansas communities. PHC is also adopting Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent, which will help alleviate administrative burdens for its clinicians and enable them to spend more time connecting with patients. As a result, PHC can expand access to healthcare in nearby underserved areas and better support patient care within its community.

According to a 2024 report from The Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform, more than 63 percent of hospitals in rural Kansas have closed or are at risk of closing due to factors like shrinking populations, high uninsured rates, losses in patient services, and cuts in funding. PHC, a small critical access, multidisciplinary hospital and emergency center in Anthony, Kansas, needed to expand care services and maximize operational efficiency to strengthen its finances and maintain its position as a trusted healthcare provider in the region. To achieve these goals, PHC deployed Oracle Health CommunityWorks, which helped automate its clinical and financial operations, driving efficiency and improving care coordination while enhancing healthcare services for local patients.

PHC is also able to create an integrated digital patient record that streamlines clinical workflows and directly connects clinical interactions to its billing processes, which results in greater financial transparency and increased reimbursements. Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent, which is integrated into the EHR, can automatically generate structured draft notes from patient-physician interactions, merge pre-charted data, limit redundancy, and organize content for easy review—streamlining documentation and driving care efficiencies. This automation helps significantly reduce the manual work that contributes to provider burnout.
