Medina Country Club Breaks Ground on All-New Clubhouse

MEDINA, Ohio, Aug. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Medina Country Club, one of Northeast Ohio's premier private golf clubs, is breaking ground on an all-new Clubhouse facility, with construction officially starting the week of September 8. Ownership and members alike celebrated the occasion with a groundbreaking ceremony on August 15, during which General Manager Kirby Manown and Club Owner and President Bill Cosgrove provided remarks and walked through the plans laid for the new Clubhouse facility.

"This is an amazing day, not only for our Club but for our community, and has been in the making for a very long time," said Kirby Manown, General Manager of Medina Country Club. "Every single detail, down to the light switches, has been thought out meticulously, and we're very excited. The future is bright."

Plans for the Clubhouse facility include men's and women's locker rooms and saunas, an attached pro-shop, a pub bar/restaurant space, and a 225-person capacity ballroom / event center that will also be available to the public for rent when not in use by Club members.

"The building that we put up will represent Medina County – it will represent the community," said Bill Cosgrove, Owner and President of Medina Country Club. "I'm so thrilled about the future of the Club and proud of the updates we've already made so far. We're hoping to make this Club a world-class destination for families in the area to be proud of."

Medina Country Club's pool is also getting a facelift in this phase of renovations. This project will see the addition of water park features for children, as well as an adult-only area, all flanked by stylish cabanas. The pool will also increase in size and have swim lanes – with the ultimate goal of creating a Club swim team. "Having a swim team will add culture to the Club and create a lot of memories for families, which is what we're after," said Cosgrove. 

The Clubhouse renovation is the latest in a string of upgrades made since Bill Cosgrove came into ownership of the Club in 2022. This fall, the Club will officially open its Reversible 9-Hole Course to handicappers and beginners alike, making it one of the only reversible courses in the United States.

The Union Performance Center, which opened in May 2024, is home to the Jim Wise Golf Academy, and features an award-winning junior golf program alongside classes and clinics for all ages and skill levels. Also included in the facility are a chipping and putting lab, golf simulators, PuttView analyzers, a fitness center, and a full-service lounge. Inside the Performance Center, members also have access to the 1,700 square foot Palmer Room, which functions as a kitchen, bar, and event space.
