Matthew Campbell Joins CPSC as Agency's General Counsel

WASHINGTON, March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) today announced that Matthew Campbell has joined the agency as its new General Counsel. Campbell is an experienced litigator and most recently served in the Office of the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In that role, he represented the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in a number of administrative law challenges under the Administrative Procedures Act. 

Prior to his government service, Campbell was a partner at the law firm of Winston & Strawn LLP where he co-chaired the firm's product liability and mass tort practice. There, he focused on products liability and other complex commercial litigation matters and developed deep knowledge of various legal and regulatory issues affecting product safety.

Campbell holds a bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
