Lexar Enterprise Launches 7.2mm Subsize eMMC

The latest memory solution from Lexar Enterprise has been designed from the ground-up to improve the performance of AI wearables.

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Lexar Enterprise, a division of Lexar Americas, has released the 7.2mm x 7.2mm subsize eMMC, a groundbreaking subsize eMMC designed to optimize the physical space of AI wearables. The 7.2mm x 7.2mm eMMC achieves maximum space efficiency with 153 solder balls nearly covering the entire panel, pushing its design to the very edge of physical limits.

7.2mm x 7.2mm is one of the smallest subsize eMMCs currently available, approximately 65% smaller than 11.5mm x 13mm form factors, and comes with a 0.8mm thickness. The 7.2mm x 7.2mm eMMC is a lightweight 0.1g (approx.), nearly 67% lighter than the standard 0.3g eMMC. A compact design saves space for additional internal components, enabling wearable devices to keep a sleek, lightweight form while meeting diverse user demands.

Equipped with in-house firmware, the 7.2mm x 7.2mm eMMC comes with the performance to ensure fast device boot-up, seamless AI application operations, and efficient data processing.
