LPA Launches '60 Acts of Kindness' Volunteerism Campaign

To commemorate its 60^th anniversary, nation-leading multi-discipline design firm initiates program to encourage 'humble acts of kindness.'

IRVINE, Calif., March 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- LPA Design Studios is commemorating its 60^th anniversary with a new year-long giving program, "60 Acts of Kindness," designed to empower staff to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

The goal is to encourage 60 acts of kindness during 2025 and to show LPA's appreciation for the community's support over six decades. Team members will be able to choose their own acts, based on their own interests, passions and community connections.

Acts of kindness to date include assembling 800 utensil kits for the Someone Cares Soup Kitchen in Costa Mesa, California, leading an origami session and discussing design during a career day at Chapel Hill Preparatory Elementary School in Dallas, Texas, and delivering 90 cases of water and Gatorade to those affected by the fires in Southern California.

"LPA could not have thrived for 60 years without the support of people and institutions in the communities in which we operate," said LPA CEO Wendy Rogers. "We want to take this opportunity to focus our efforts on the community initiatives that matter to our local studios."

Founded in 1965 in a garage in Irvine California, LPA has evolved into a multi-discipline design firm with more than 500 architects, engineers, landscape architects, interior designers and researchers working in studios throughout California and Texas. In December, the American Institute of Architects recognized LPA with the AIA 2025 Architecture Firm Award, the industry's highest honor.

The 60 Acts of Kindness program is part of LPA for Change, the firm's charitable foundation, an initiative to align charitable giving, internal programs and company policies with the firm's vision of a more equitable and sustainable industry. LPA for Change initiatives include the company's pro-bono work, community partnerships and Diversity in Design Scholarship, which annually awards up to five, $5,000 renewable scholarships to students pursuing a career in a design profession.

The 60 Acts of Kindness program encourages employees to give back to their communities through "simple, humble acts of kindness that enrich our communities." LPA is supporting their initiatives with financial assistance and carving out time during the week for them to use on their giving efforts. In addition to employee-proposed acts of kindness, the company is organizing quarterly volunteer events.
