Joel Fleishman Fine Wine Collection at Leland Little Auctions

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C., Feb. 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, March 6, 2025, Leland Little will present the Joel Fleishman Fine Wine Collection at public auction.  Over 300 lots will be offered to bidders on the Leland Little Auctions bidding platform (LelandLittle.com). Pre-bidding will open on Tuesday, February 25^th.

Philanthropist, professor, university administrator, author, public servant, and inspiring leader -- Joel Fleishman was a man of deep and generous talents.  From founding what is now known as the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, to inspiring and mentoring countless students over the course of fifty plus years of teaching, to his lifelong commitment to philanthropy, public policy, and nonprofit organizations, Joel Fleishman lived a life of service.

Throughout the years, Fleishman cultivated a vast and deep network of friends.  He enjoyed bringing people together, sharing conversation, good food, and especially fine wine.  His discerning palate, knowledge of the intricacies of winemaking, and ability to make deep connections with brilliant vintners eventually led him to be asked to write a monthly wine column for Vanity Fair and to serve as a wine consultant to The 21 Club in New York.  His columns discussed all the topics you might expect and then some. 

Fleishman's personal wine collection consists primarily of sought-after California wines.  He was a member of "The Reserve" at the Harlan Estate, an exclusive wine club that rewards its members with bespoke bottles of wine.  These bottles are being offered within this auction.  Other top California vintners being offered include Lail Vineyards, Spottswoode, Schrader Cellars, and Arajo Estate - Eisele Vineyard.
