Teledyne LeCroy's Voyager M480x supports PAM3, Tunneled DisplayPort 2.1, and USB3 Gen T

MILPITAS, Calif., March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Teledyne LeCroy, Inc., a worldwide leader in USB protocol test solutions, is pleased to announce general market availability of Voyager M480x Protocol Analyzer, the first protocol analysis system for testing next-generation USB4^® 80Gbps interfaces. This flagship solution is designed to address the entire development lifecycle including functional verification, qualification, and compliance testing.

The updated USB4^® version 2.0 specification doubles the data transfer rate of today's USB4 to enable higher throughput displays, storage, and USB-based hubs and docks.  Aligned with the DisplayPort 2.1 standard, the USB4 version 2.0 specification supports tunneling of ultra-high bit rate (UHBR) video for higher resolution monitors. It also features USB3 Gen T support which, among other things, enables USB 3.2 applications to take advantage of USB4 throughput. These additions to the USB4 technology introduce a new level of complexity related to signal integrity, increased channel loss, new error correction mechanisms and backwards compatibility for design and test engineers that need to validate their products.
